Anonymous asked: Tell me about a shot you didn't get. Either you didn't have your camera or....whatevs. Which missed opportunities still haunt you? If any.
Well, once I was making out with a girl and she stopped and asked, “Where’s your camera?” and I had left it in a car somewhere and she was bummed. Would have liked to know what she wanted a photo of. Was in the middle of a fight at a party in LA recently and this buff dude was hulking out and ripping his shirt off and I froze with my camera in my pocket, got this photo at the end of the fight. Got too gone last year on a desert trip with a big group of homies and slept through the whole night, got this photo right at the start though.
I don’t really worry about missing shots. I think that’s the kind of brain wall you have to get over sooner or later as a photographer. You get the shots you get, they’re yours, you missed something, forget about it. That being said I still bring my camera everywhere I go, except to work. I don’t want my camera to see how I make the money I give it.
